Banda Aceh – The Department of Physics held curriculum evaluation workshops for the Bachelor’s Program on Wednesday (June 12, 2024) and the Master’s Program in Physics on Thursday (June 13, 2024). The workshop was conducted in a “dual mode” or “blended” format, combining in-person and online sessions, and was attended by all faculty members and staff of the Department of Physics, FMIPA USK.
This event was intended to develop a new curriculum framework for the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Physics that aligns with advancements in science and technology, societal demands, and stakeholder needs.

The event began with an opening speech by Dr. Saumi Syahreza, S.Si., M.Si., as Head of the Physics Department and Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Program in Physics. On the following day, the session was opened by Prof. Dr. Muksin, M.Si., M.Phil., as Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Physics.
The event spanned two days and featured a presenter from the Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Dr. Melania Suweni Muntini, MT. During the event, she provided feedback and input on the curriculum currently used for the Bachelor’s and Master’s Physics programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) atUSK.

On the same occasion, she also presented several other important topics, such as the development of semester learning plans for each course planned to use the OBE Curriculum, starting from creating the semester learning plan outline, course descriptions, setting learning outcomes, to preparing assessments.
Through this evaluation of the existing curriculum, it is hoped that the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) USK can design and develop a new curriculum that enhances the academic quality of graduates from the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Physics.
The event concluded with a discussion and Q&A session, followed by the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the speakers and a virtual group photo session.
