
Banda Aceh – The Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), has officially established an international partnership with the Centre for Renewable Energy and Storage, Suresh Gyan Vihar University, India, through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on 25 June 2026 at the Department of Physics, FMIPA USK.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Saumi Syahreza, S.Si., M.Si., Head of the Department of Physics, FMIPA USK, and Prof. Dr. Ankur Jain, Director of the Centre for Renewable Energy and Storage. The signing marks a strategic milestone in strengthening international collaboration in education, research, and community engagement, with a particular focus on renewable energy and advanced materials.
Through this partnership, both institutions have agreed to develop a wide range of joint academic and research initiatives, including collaborative research projects, scientific publications, international seminars and conferences, faculty and staff exchange programs, as well as joint supervision of postgraduate students and researchers.
Dr. Saumi Syahreza emphasized that the collaboration is expected to create broader opportunities for the USK academic community to participate in international research networks while enhancing the quality of scientific publications and innovation in the field of sustainable energy.
“This collaboration represents an important step in advancing the internationalization of the Department of Physics, FMIPA USK, while fostering impactful joint research that contributes to the advancement of science and technology,” he stated.

The Memorandum of Agreement between the Department of Physics, FMIPA USK, and the Centre for Renewable Energy and Storage, Suresh Gyan Vihar University, will remain in effect for five years. It is expected to serve as a solid foundation for the development of sustainable international academic programs and long-term collaborative initiatives that benefit both institutions.
