Banda Aceh, June 5, 2026 – The Department of Physics held a meeting and visited the Aceh Product Quality Testing and Certification Center (BPSMB) on Thursday, June 4, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen synergy between universities and quality testing institutions in Aceh. This activity aimed to introduce the profile of the Department of Physics, explore opportunities for cooperation, and broaden academic perspectives regarding the application of physics in various fields of quality testing and certification.

During the event, the profile and various achievements of the Department of Physics were presented by Dr. Saumi Syahreza, Head of the Department of Physics. The presentation covered the fields of education, research, community service, as well as potential collaborations that can be developed with BPSMB Aceh, particularly in the areas of laboratories, testing, instrumentation, and human resource development.

The meeting took place in a warm and productive atmosphere. The Physics Department delegation was welcomed directly by Mr. T. Satria Wira, SE, MM, Head of BPSMB Aceh, along with his staff. During the meeting, both parties discussed various opportunities for cooperation that could support the development of education, research, student internships, and the enhancement of human resource competencies.

In addition to the meeting, the delegation also had the opportunity to visit various laboratory facilities owned by BPSMB Aceh. The visit included the Agricultural, Plantation, and Forestry Products Laboratory, the Essential Oils Laboratory, the Food Laboratory, the Instrumentation Laboratory, the Coffee Taste Testing Laboratory, and the Microbiology Laboratory. Through this visit, participants gained a firsthand understanding of testing processes, quality control, and the utilization of laboratory technology and instruments in supporting various industrial sectors and Aceh’s flagship commodities.

On the same occasion, the delegation also observed Physics Department students who were conducting an internship program at the BPSMB Aceh Essential Oil Laboratory. This activity served as a form of support for the internship program while demonstrating the students’ active role in applying the knowledge and skills gained during their studies to a professional work environment.

Through this meeting and visit, the Department of Physics hopes that the good relationship established with BPSMB Aceh can continue to be strengthened through various collaborative programs that benefit both institutions. Synergy between the academic world and testing institutions is expected to support the development of science, the improvement of human resources, and the strengthening of innovation and quality testing services in Aceh.
