Banda Aceh – SMA Lab. School Unsyiah, in collaboration with the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Syiah Kuala University (FMIPA USK), is organizing the Young Leaders and Cultural Immersion Program as part of an international collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in Malaysia and Teuku Umar University. The event will take place from April 24-27, 2026, in Banda Aceh.
This program serves as a platform for participants to develop academic knowledge, leadership skills, communication abilities, and cross-cultural understanding. Through a series of academic and non-academic activities, participants are encouraged to build self-confidence, expand their networks, and enhance their readiness to navigate a global environment.

One of the key activities in this program is the “Speak Like a CEO” session. This activity is designed to train participants’ ability to communicate in English with confidence, structure, and professionalism. Through this session, students gain experience in presenting ideas in public like a leader.
In addition to personal capacity building, the program also features cultural exchange activities between participants from Aceh and Malaysia. The delegates also participated in visits to several historical sites in Aceh as part of an introduction to the history, culture, and local wisdom of the Acehnese people.
The delegation from UTP Malaysia present at this event included Senior Manager of Student Affairs Encik Ahmad PG Abdullah, Madam Nur Adriena Amiz Abdul Muthalib, and Miss Nurul Izzah Binti Muhammad Ridwan. From Teuku Umar University, the event was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Irwansyah, ST., M.Eng.
The series of activities for the Young Leaders and Cultural Immersion Program was also marked by the signing of an Implementation Agreement among the involved parties. This signing is expected to strengthen institutional ties, open opportunities for academic collaboration, and promote the implementation of sustainable international programs.

Through this event, the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) USK reaffirmed its commitment to expanding international cooperation, particularly in education, leadership development, and cultural exchange. This program is expected to provide a meaningful experience for participants while serving as a strategic step in strengthening academic networks between educational institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia.
