Zakaria, S.Si.,M.Si

Zakaria, S.Si., M.Si., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), with expertise in electronics and instrumentation. He obtained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from USK, completing his M.Si. in 2017. He currently serves as Head of the Electronics and Instrumentation Laboratory and peer group chief of instrumentation and electronics, and is a member of the Center for Data Development and Quality Information Technology at LPM USK. His recent research and development projects focus on smart farming technologies, climate and weather instrumentation, real-time monitoring systems, thermal energy storage, and affordable electrical energy solutions for communities, supported by competitive USK PTNBH grants. He has also contributed to the development of mechatronics applications and energy storage materials based on local resources. Zakaria holds a patent on an NPK measuring tool for agricultural soil humidity and acidity and copyrights for books on Linux-based server and network development and mechatronics applications. He has published on IoT-based marine weather systems, biomedical and home automation instrumentation, and sensor development, and is an active member of the Physical Society of Indonesia (PSI), the Indonesian Association of Geophysicists (HAGI), and APDOVI, while teaching in the Bachelor’s program in Physics at USK.
