Fauzi, S.Si,M.Si
Fauzi, S.Si., M.Si., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), with research interests in material science, material characterization, and semiconductors. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and his Master’s degree in Physics from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). Since 1993, he has served as a faculty member at USK and currently heads the Material and Energy Laboratory in the Physics Department. His recent research and development activities include laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) for paleotsunami layer characterization in Aceh, development of nano-silica from Aceh jade for magnesium-based secondary batteries, and collaborative projects on instrument calibration and corrosion analysis with government and industry partners. He is a co-inventor on patents related to the preparation of nanocrystalline MgH₂ powder via mechanical alloying and the synthesis of nano-magnetite from beach sand for hydrogen storage materials. His publications cover topics such as the acoustic properties of composite building panels, tsunami soil geochemistry, hydroxyapatite synthesis from local biowaste for biomedical applications, smart-home and fermentation-monitoring instrumentation, and magnetic and functional materials derived from local mineral resources. Fauzi is a member of the Physical Society of Indonesia (PSI) and teaches in the Bachelor’s program in Physics at USK.
