Dr. Suhrawardi Ilyas, S.Si,M.Sc

Dr. Suhrawardi Ilyas, S.Si., M.Sc., is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), with research interests in material science and semiconductor devices. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), and both his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Physics from the School of Physics, Department of Condensed Matter Physics, The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He has served as Head of the Basic Physics Laboratory (2016–2023), Head of the Electronics Engineering Study Program (2012–2016), Executive Secretary of USK’s 7-in-1 Project, and is an expert member of the Badan Hisab dan Rukyat of Aceh Province and a long-time trainer for the Astronomy Olympiad for high school students. His scholarly work includes theoretical modeling and characterization of porous silicon–based optical devices, studies of the physical properties of solid materials, and recent contributions to tourism development and physics education through blended learning approaches. Dr. Ilyas is active in the Physics Society of Indonesia and the Teuku Nyak Arif Islamic Education Foundation and teaches in both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Physics at USK.
