Dr. Rini Safitri, S.Si,M.Si
Dr. Rini Safitri, S.Si., M.Si., is a faculty member in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), with research interests in medical physics and physics education. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physics from USK, a Master’s degree in Medical Physics from Institut Teknologi Bandung, and a Doctorate in Medical Physics from the School of Physics, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She currently serves as Head of the Medical Physics Group, Head of the Medical Physics and Nuclear Laboratory, Head of Quality Assurance for the Master’s Program in Physics, and previously led USK’s Greenmetric initiative. Her recent work includes resistivity modeling of subsurface structures for road failure investigations, growth modeling of cancer patients at dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital: interpretation of electrical logging data for liquefaction-prone weak zones; simulation studies on molten salt reactor core temperature distributions; and publications on tsunami impacts on soil salinity, radon and thoron exposure around mining areas, and STEM- and ethnoscience-based physics learning. Dr. Safitri is a member of the Physical Society of Indonesia (PSI) and teaches in both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Physics at USK.
