Secretary of Physics Department

Dr. Malahayati, S.Si, M.Si

Field of Study: Materials Dr. Malahayati is a materials physicist who specializes in hydrogen storage materials and silica-based catalysts. She has a Ph.D. in physics from Universitas Syiah Kuala, as well as earlier degrees from UGM and USK. She is an assistant professor in the Physics Department at FMIPA USK and has held several administrative roles, including secretary of the department and head of the fundamental physics laboratory. Her recent research focuses on extracting silica from rice husk ash for use in magnesium hydride–based hydrogen storage catalysts. She has collaborated with the Aceh Public Works Office on concrete material studies. Dr. Malahayati has published extensively on hydrogen storage, MgH₂-based materials, natural silica catalysts, TiO₂ photoelectrodes, and natural dye absorptivity. Dr. Malahayati is a member of the Physical Society of Indonesia and teaches physics at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
