Amir Asyqari, S.Si., M.Si.

Amir Asyqari, S.Si., M.Si., is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), with research interests in geophysics and disaster risk analysis. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from USK and has been actively involved in research projects on virtual reality development based on geophysical and archaeological data for cultural heritage sites, paleotsunami record reconstruction along the west coast of Sumatra, and the formulation of drought and forest–land fire risk models for financing and insurance of state and regional assets across Indonesia, supported by BRIN, LPDP, and the Earth Observatory of Singapore. His recent collaborations include work with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland on paleotsunami deposition and consultancy roles for regional disaster management and planning agencies in Aceh Singkil and Nagan Raya Regencies on forest fire and drought risk assessment. He holds a registered software copyright for the SupeRISKa decision support system and has published on topics such as 1D inversion of vertical electrical sounding data, spatial assessment of soil erosion using the RUSLE model for coastal ecosystem sustainability, ENSO and IOD influences on rainfall in Aceh, and the application of magnetic and electrical methods for archaeological and karst subsurface investigations. Amir is a member of the Physical Society of Indonesia (PSI) and the Indonesian Association of Geophysicists (HAGI) and teaches in the Bachelor’s program in Physics at USK.
