
Banda Aceh, August 14, 2026 – The Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Syiah Kuala University (USK), hosted a visit from SMAIT Nurul Fikri on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The event was attended by approximately 50 students and 10 teachers.
The visit was part of the Physics Department’s promotional and outreach activities aimed at introducing prospective students to the academic environment, the field of physics, learning facilities, and opportunities for developing competencies in physics.
The event began with opening remarks from the Head of the Department of Physics at FMIPA USK, Dr. Saumi Syahreza, M.Si. In his remarks, he expressed appreciation for SMAIT Nurul Fikri’s visit and emphasized the importance of providing students with the opportunity to experience firsthand the university environment and the various facilities available in the Department of Physics.
Next, the students and teachers received an introduction to the Department of Physics and the Bachelor of Science in Physics program, including the learning environment, laboratory activities, and opportunities for personal development and research in the field of physics.

The participants then visited the Materials Physics Laboratory and the Electronics and Instrumentation Laboratory. During the visit, the students received explanations about the laboratory facilities and equipment, as well as the application of physics in the fields of materials, electronics, and instrumentation.
This activity also provided students with the opportunity to interact directly with faculty members and laboratory staff, giving them a more concrete understanding of learning and research activities at the university.

Through this visit, the Department of Physics at FMIPA USK continues to strengthen its promotional and outreach activities for prospective students, while also introducing physics as a field of study that plays a vital role in the development of science, technology, and innovation.
