The Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FMIPA USK), once again demonstrated its commitment to enhancing student quality and competitiveness by organizing a Socialization of the Student Creativity Program (PKM). The event was conducted online and attended by dozens of physics students from various academic years, who showed strong enthusiasm throughout the session.
The session was moderated by Mr. Anla Fet Hardi, S.Si., M.Si., who led the event in an interactive and engaging manner. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of student participation in PKM as a platform for developing creativity, innovation, and scientific thinking skills. He also highlighted that this initiative is part of the department’s strategic effort to encourage students to actively compete at the national level.
The main speaker, Mr. Said Ali Akbar, delivered a comprehensive presentation covering PKM schemes, funding opportunities, and strategies for preparing competitive proposals. He explained the ten main PKM themes that can serve as references for students in developing ideas, ranging from health, education, and technology to environmental sustainability and community economic empowerment.

During the presentation, participants were introduced to various PKM categories, including PKM-Research, PKM-Entrepreneurship, PKM-Community Service, and PKM-Karsa Cipta. The speaker also shared practical tips on identifying relevant ideas, constructing strong research backgrounds, and designing systematic and measurable methodologies.
The event was highly interactive, featuring a question-and-answer session where students actively engaged with the speaker. Their enthusiasm was evident from the number of questions raised, particularly regarding funding opportunities and strategies to succeed in the national selection process.
Through this socialization activity, it is expected that students of the Physics Department, FMIPA USK, will be increasingly motivated to participate in the PKM program. Beyond being a competition platform, PKM serves as an important medium for developing scientific character, research skills, and meaningful contributions to solving real-world problems in society.
